炳灵寺第70窟位于下寺石窟群中部,初凿于唐代,南壁壁画为无量寿经变画,依据《无量寿经》的情节绘制而成,展现的是《无量寿经》中描述的西方极乐世界。绘画采用汉地传统的线描法和沥粉贴金工艺,佛、菩萨样式依据藏传佛教造像仪轨。画师通壁巨构,运用细腻的笔触、淡雅的色彩、动静结合的手法,描绘了众菩萨弟子、亭台楼阁、花草树木、清流莲池、神禽异兽等,展现出了一个安静祥和、庄严神圣的西方极乐世界。
Abstract:The Cave number 70 located in the middle of stone caves of Xia Monastery,the earliest caves were chiseled during Tang dynasty. The mural of south wall was aparimitayur and it was painted according to Aparimitayur Sutra. It reflected the Western Paradise that described in the book. The painting adopted Chinese traditional line drawing and gelled pattering technologies,and the form and structures were painted according to Tibetan statues. The concept of Western Paradise was highly valued by Chinese people since it light up ones imaginations. Aparimitayur sutra was translated into China around Han dynasty.
